Privacy policy
Your files
The tools on Whichly run entirely in your browser. The files you open with them are read on your own device and are never uploaded, copied to a server, or stored by this site — there is no server that could receive them. Nothing you process here is seen by anyone but you, whether or not ads are shown.
What we collect
Whichly is a static site. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect names, emails or payment details on the site. If you email us, we hold that message in order to reply to it, and nothing else.
Some tools remember small preferences on your own device using browser storage — for example the list of tools you saved with the star, and whether you accepted analytics. That data stays in your browser, is never transmitted, and clearing your browsing data removes it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate, anonymised traffic (pages viewed, country, device type). GA4 may set cookies and process data under Google's privacy terms. This helps us decide what to write next.
It does not load unless you accept it. Analytics and advertising storage default to denied, and no analytics request is made before you choose — if you decline, or simply ignore the bar, nothing is loaded at all. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookies link in the footer, which reopens the choice.
Separately, our host Cloudflare runs Cloudflare Web Analytics on this site. It counts page views without cookies, without any identifier stored on your device, and without tracking you across other sites, so it runs for every visitor rather than sitting behind the choice above. It records the page address, referrer, and coarse details such as country and browser — never the files you process, which stay on your device regardless.
Advertising
Whichly may display advertising served by Google, including through the Google AdSense programme. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads), or opt out of a third party's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. The tools on Whichly run entirely in your browser — the files you process are never uploaded, whether or not ads are shown.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination merchant may set its own cookies to attribute the referral. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Your choices
You can decline analytics, or withdraw a previous acceptance, using the Cookies link in the footer. You can also block cookies in your browser settings or use a tracker-blocking extension without losing access to any content — every tool works the same either way.
To ask what is held about you, or to request its removal, write to [email protected]. In most cases the answer is that there is nothing to remove, because the site holds no accounts and never receives your files.
